About Chief Rentals

Chief Rentals was founded in 1994 with a small loan from The Prince’s Trust.

Initially a car rental business operating in Torbay, the business has grown significantly and now comprises three separate but interconnected strategic business units - a vehicle rentals division, a corporate fleet division and an accident replacement vehicles division.

The company is a member of the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association and a United Rentals System licensee. The vehicle rentals division currently operates from two locations. Our Vehicle rental office in Paignton which is in the heart of town, right next to Paignton train station making it very accessible. We also have our vehicle rental office in Birmingham which is located on Gravelly Hill North in Erdington. There are also plans to grow geographic spread in the next few years.

The corporate fleet division specialises in vehicle hire and motor repair services for businesses all over the South West and the Midlands. Helping businesses to grow by providing short- and long-term hires as required.

The accident replacement vehicles division is based at our head office at Paignton harbor. From here our busy call center provides accident replacement vehicles to victims of road traffic accidents. The division has exceptional strength and expertise in supplying non-standard vehicles such as prestige cars, vans, dual-control vehicles, chauffeur cars, taxis and motorhomes. Chief Rentals is the recognised provider of non-standard vehicles and is one of the largest suppliers of accident replacement taxis in Great Britain.

The Prince's Trust

The Prince's Trust is a UK charity that helps young people to overcome barriers and get their lives working. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, The Prince's Trust helps 14-30 year olds realise their potential and transform their lives.

The Prince of Wales set up The Prince's Trust in 1976, with the goal of helping young people fulfil their potential. Prince Charles had just left the Navy and was looking for ways he could contribute his time and energy to help people.

The Prince says what struck him was that young people weren't being given opportunities quickly enough. "No one was putting the trust in them they needed. If I was going to do anything, it had to be an operation that was able to take those risks: to trust young people and to experiment."

In starting The Prince's Trust, he began a commitment to help them by taking risks. He says, "That is the whole point of what we do. We try to do things differently, to cut through the bureaucracy and the red tape. And I believe that approach has paid off."

The results of The Prince’s Trust's delivery on the Prince's vision are impressive and its successes include Chief Rentals which was founded in 1994 with a loan from The Princes Trust.

At Chief Rentals, we believe our business can and should give something back to our community and The Prince's Trust is the charity we support in achieving this. In addition to our fundraising activity, our senior management is now actively involved in The Prince's Trust Insurance Leadership Group.
